Lomi Lomi  (A Hawaiian Approach)

Lomi Lomi is a traditional form of Hawaiian healing. It incorporates broad flowing strokes, using the forearm for longer, smoother stokes that connect deep down to the bone. Channeling light and positive energy from the 4 elements (earth, fire, wind, and water) to rejuvenate the spirit, Lomi Lomi means  “Loving Hands.” It  comes straight from the heart.

Relaxation

All sessions, whatever style, is aimed to relax the client. For those who have no particular needs that have to be addressed, various pressure, strokes, and rhythmic patterns create an environment in which to enjoy a peaceful moment.

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is at the cutting edge of massage therapy. It is a different approach to treat your common pain or previous injuries. Orthopedic massage is structural massage for balancing out your muscles and aligning your bone structure. Its excellent for helping with sports injuries such as tennis elbow, rotator cuff or hip joint injuries, knee injuries, and other joint problems. Also, orthopedic massage can be used to treat arthritis.

Sports Massage

Athletes are often prepared for events with trainers who include a regimen of massage. A good analysis of potential weakness and risk factors by a skilled licensed massage therapist is invaluable. To receive post event massage is key to a quicker recovery. It assists the body’s natural process of eliminating waste materials and restores a resting equilibrium that often takes much longer to reestablish without gentle manipulation.

Lymphatic Drainage

Our bodies contain several systems that circulate and cleanse. Primary is the blood, but the lymph is the core of our immune system and is responsible for moving waste, bacteria, and viruses. A clear liquid that travels through countless small pathways in the body, it is the home of lymphocytes that attack infection.  This type of massage mimics the natural motion of the body using simple movements that rely on gravity and the natural pulses of the body, this lymph fluid is aided in its circulation through the body. It is particularly helpful for people whose lymph nodes have been removed with surgery.

Myofascial Release

This is a form of bodywork that is manipulative in nature and seeks to rebalance the body by releasing tension in the fascia, the tissue structure which lines and covers nearly everything inside and around our bodies. Long, stretching strokes are utilized to release muscular tension and holding patterns. This technique helps unwind our bodies from traumas and pains built up over the years and greatly improve range of motion. The effect is long-lasting.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy (also known as Myotherapy or Neuromuscular Therapy) applies concentrated finger pressure to “trigger points” (painful irritated areas in muscles) to break cycles of spasm and pain.

Reflexology

Massage based around a system of points in the hands and feet thought to correspond, or “reflex,” to all areas of the body.

Sound Therapy

Sound is being re-discovered as an extremely powerful tool for personal growth and transformation. This medium is being successfully used to induce a state of physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Sound, in the form of chant, tone, music, and nature sounds is being re-discovered in the health-care arena for the enhancement of health, vitality, hospice/palliative care, numerous psychological and behavioral conditions, and stress reduction; the nervous system entrains to and re-aligns with the intervals created by these instruments and tuning forks as well. Sound vibration directly aligns all energy fields, and using our own voice is a powerful and potent form of doing so.
